  • I was on the Bus for the Garner State Park Show and the Fanatics was part of the show as well. I worked on the Buddy McGregor Show and was on Larry Kane for 6 years. Good old days.

Check out the Vimeo video and search for Garner State Park and you will find it.

  • Thanks for that info! Great slide show from 1965 bus trip and concert at Garner!

  • Most (if not all) of these photos are from a booklet produced the Neal Ford and the Fanatics Fan Club. My sister and started it and in fact, in the slides towards the end, we are the two girls in the photos. Great memories!

  • I remember seeing them on the Larry Kane show a lot. Did one of the guys live in Spring Branch? I remember watching a band practicing in the garage when I was walking home from school. It would have been on Longridge street.

  • Johnny Stringfellow and I were good friends in high school [John H. Reagan] in Houston and I also played guitar and would go over to his house when they practiced. Starting out we went to a lot of parties, back then you picked up gigs where ever you could. There use to be a place called the Peppermint Lounge in Houston, I guess every city has one, there wasn't a lot of people at that time but they kept coming back and started bringing their friends before long they started to click.

  • Used to work with W.T. Johnson on the beach in Galveston renting floats and beach umbrella and chairs back in the early 60's. One of the best Houston bands!!

  • Wow great song!! IT ROCKS!!
