This shows my "Pancake Coil JT" now modulated and broadcasting music to a nearby AM radio. An old cassette player is the source of the music signal that is fed into the simple oscillator. It is powered by one AA battery.
Lidmotor... I see this video, and another of the same circuit. Are these circuits actually -using- the energy contained within the AM band, as a crystal radio does?
Lid I definitely see potential in this and I believe this should be explored more deeply in other joule thiefs, especially the recovery on the back end
you think you could set using a photocell, solarcell or optocoupler to illustrate a light reciever capturing the sound.
It would also be interesting to see this in other jt circuits or even a small fl driver to create a mockup simular to the news i hear of lighting being used for information transmission
I've also seen a jiffycoil video of a slayer exciter being used as a radio transmitter.
Do you think the crystal batteries could possibly be pulling energy in from radio waves thus self charging themselves?

search for qrp operation on wikipedia.

thats very neat : ) , how do we make a low power long distance transmitter?

Check out GrantsPassTVRepairs's Channel. He has a crystal radio lighting an LED.
