I loved the way they shot the Spider's exploration of the pyramid

there at the begining.

That tracking shot is brilliant. Those sorts of angle changing shots seemed to get ignored later as the art got better.

The stairs angle is a lot lot the Mickey Mouse Short "The Mad Doctor".

Easier to animate. Its the same reason most cartoon characters only have 3-4 fingers.
