In East Tennessee where I come from there are houses like this, old farms that are no longer maintained. It is a legacy of urbanization, not of slavery per se.

Just seeing that dear grandma brings tears to my eyes, and I'm a man. As a Diasporan, it's hard to really wrap my 21st century mind around this phenomena. We are 150 out from legalized slavery, yet here we are. I wonder what has happened to the dear elder at the beginning of the video?
