this is a short 3 minute video of me riding around the block.
the clouds were building so i did not want to risk being caught in the rain. i plan a longer ride at a later date.

before anyone asks why i didn't comment on what was happening on the Cycle Analyst screen, all you would have heard is wind noise. there really would have been no point in trying to comment while in motion.

this clip was recorded using the same camera as all the others, but with a wide angle lens fitted. i am going to look into buying a proper camera mount for the next video.

  • Where can i get the paddle crank from???

  • @tungkalangka

the freewheel crank came as part of the kit from cyclone.

it is available as a spare part if you just want to buy it on it's own however.

i got the kit from cyclone-tw (do) com cyclone also has a USA dealer at cyclone-usa (dot) com

  • wow. this takes out the best part of cycling... that is, the cycling itself.

I could do that lap quicker on my trackbike, which probably weighs less than half of what that would. Plus I would have the added satisfaction of pedalling myself, and the exercise too.

And adding to that, it seems to be an expensive way of getting out of paying rego for a car or bike, or public transport....

  • @HLCHLC

im sure you could do the lap quicker.

the exercise wasnt to make a bike that's faster than what could be done with pedal power alone.

it was to "flatten out" the hills.

the bike wasnt built to avoid rego either.

im recovering from a fairly serious medical condition.

this allows me to still get some cardio exercise without overstressing myself.

i can ride nearly 100km with the electric assistance. no way i could get even close without it.

  • @HLCHLC Absolutely not. My cboardman hybrid comp is fitted with the magic pie 3 48v 20ah system capable of

55mph without no pedaling.gets me to work 15 miles round trip faster then any form of public transport. yet i have the option to pedal when i'm not so rush to get anywhere quickly..cost less then a cup of coffee to fully charge. this is the future.. specialy living in London. fuel, parking, tax, MOT insurance prices is absolutely ridiculous..

  • @sn0wchyld

i agree a speed limit would make a lot more sense than a power limit.

but that's the law makers for you. once again getting things wrong.

  • @exaturbo you'd think a speed limit would make more sense than a power limit. same as a car, you can have 500+hp, no probs so long as you stay under 60kmh. should be the same with ebikes, have 500,1000 or more watts just limit it to 40 or 50, witch most bike riders can do anyway. maybe make disk breaks mandatory too...

  • @exaturbo ahh i see, Thanks for the reply, I've subed to your channal just in case you bring out any more e-bike vids :P

  • @sasop117

    thanks.

those stickers i had made, and are not accurate for the motor and controller.

i had them made so the motor would appear to be within Australias power limit of 200W.

i agree that this motor was not very efficient however. it was very good torque though.

that's why my new ebike is a higher voltage system.

the new bike is about twice as efficient with it's power consumption over this one.

lower rpm shouldn't hurt anything except efficiency. monitor heat and it should be ok.

  • Just out of interest, i notated of your first video, the motor was rated at 2500 rpm, and the gear reduction would mean you would have to pedle at about 600 or so (at full rpm)... to cut the bullshit, to you think, having to keep the rpm of the motor slow, will make it inefficient or reduce the motor life? PS, Very nice bike!
