"I Love The US Republic, And I Hate The US Empire": Johan Galtung on the War in Afghanistan and How to Get Out
We turn now to the second part of my interview with Johan Galtung. Known as a founder of the field of peace and conflict studies, he's spent the past half century pursuing non-violent conflict resolution in international relations. His latest book is "The Fall of the US Empire--And Then What?: Successors, Regionalization or Globalization? US Fascism or US Blossoming?" I spoke to him last week about his prediction of the collapse of U.S. empire in ten years, by 2020. In this second part of our interview, Galtung discusses his assessment of President Obama, the U.S. corporate media and more. But we began with the war in Afghanistan, where he has worked extensively in attempts at conflict resolution.
@master123214 Oh well, I guess you told me, ha? Bill O`Reilly? Sorry pal, I know who he is, but I have never seen his show. We don`t get Fox (that`s where he`s on, right?) here in Norway. If you hate your country so much, you have two choices: Get involved in politics (start on the local level), and try to make changes (it`s called "democracy"). Or you can move. Mexico is to the south. Ranting to a man halfway across the globe that you have never met, changes nothing. Good luck.

That's speculation. Criminals aren't judged on "what would have happened if they hadn't murdered/killed/stole ________", just on their crimes.
How about the western European / American based banking industry, that over even just the last century has exploited armed conflicts?

@NormaJe4n ...the only country on the planet actually willing and able to intervene in other countries when it is needed, for humanitarian reasons. Could you picture Russia or China be willing to go to Haiti, Somalia, Afghanistan or wherever, trying to create positive changes? No way, they don`t care. So, even though the U.S. sometimes mess up, make bad decisions, and at times even decisions based on selfish motives, they ARE a positive force in the world. I just don`t get why people hate the US

@TsangBokyan You`re talking about The United Fruit Company now, right? Look, I have no problem acknowledging that the U.S government, and U.S.-backed companies has been involved in shady businesses in third-world-countries, especially in South-America. But that doesn`t change the fact that without the U.S, the world would be in a much bigger mess than it is now. Any dictator would feel free to butcher his own, or neighbouring, people, as there would be noone standing up to them. The U.S. is....

As a fellow norwegian, I am deeply ashamed that this guy, Galtung, even exists. He is a traitor to all of western civilization. Some of the things he says in this interview is right, such as how he views the future of Afghanistan post-ISAF, but he is a notorious USA-hater and conspiracy theorist, he hates all of western civilization. He is an old man now though, hopefully he will die soon. Go USA!

Most propaganda images from the Cold War look outdated now, but the idea of embedding a message in Cold War style could be more relevant than ever in propaganda of the modern.
With a little hate here and a little fear-mongering there, could the raging positions of mainstream pundits on certain issues be stemming from something a little deeper than mood swings?
What do Cold War and modern day propaganda have in common?
remember, Russia spends more on Propaganda than Unemployment !!!!
