In this video, I give a giant ramble on my opinions with the current mobile phone market in the United States. In the past, it seems like companies like Nokia/Symbian and RIM (Blackberry) focused on hardware capability and bells and whistles. Since Apple has entered the market (a little over a year), the iPhone has forced Nokia, Google (Android), and RIM to focus on the software interface and user experience. A big example of this shift is that all of Apple's competitors are planning on introducing some sort of "Application marketplace" aimed to compete with Apple's iTunes App store. In the end, this shift towards user experience will benefit us more than anyone. Truly an exciting time to be a mobile phone user! Enjoy!

  • you said that NOKIA was making the BlackBerry storm but i thought that RIM made BlackBerry not NOKIA.... Have i been wrong this whole time?

  • I made a mistake as I commented earlier. I meant RIM. I already know this is going to be a recurring comment on here, so I'm just going to ignore future statements about it.

  • ...Nokia is not coming out with the storm.. RIM is. :D

Motorola is also coming out with a touch screen. its called the Krave.

  • I had a feeling I mixed them up. :) Thanks for the correction.

  • Apple got an app store because of GOOGLE .. when the Iphone first came out.. i had no interest because you were stuck with the apps on the phone unless you would jailbreak it so google came out and they say they will focus on Developers Apple got smart after that announcement.. they came out with an SDK and an app store.. before GOOGLE the Iphone 3G was just an Iphone with 3G capabilities... but google forced them to focus on apps what sucks for google is that they did not have the hardware..

  • HTC had a touchscreen way before apple ever thought about entering the phone market..

  • You're bang on the money there. Not only did iPhone focus on the user experience, I think the Wow factor of that user experience drew people in too. To have a touch screen is one thing, but do to it as sleekly and cooly as they have done it is another.

I got my iPhone yesterday...I loved my former phone, the nokia N95, but I can see that this iPhone is in another league....even though the camera isn't :)

  • but, yano what. i dont care becuase the Internet on the iPhone is outstanding and i dont think that Google & Nokia will be able to do that.

  • i cant belive that Google & Nokia are copying the iPhone, i bet apple sue, they should do, exspecially if its called App Store, becuase it's 100% copying because iPhone has done so well.

  • blackberry storm is for verizon wireless,i think its coming out november this yr thats wat i heard cant wait its gonna be sick

  • between the iphone and the G1 you should get the iphone i think.... att is a better network than t-mobile in the USA market at least but to be honest att and t-mobile both suck the best network I think is verizon wireless so i really think you should look up the blackberry storm it can do what the iphone can mostly and its on the best network and the largest 3g too it smokes the iphone and the g1 in the 3g part

  • It is Great to have a phone with a "app store" and nice web browser and touch screen... but if the network sucks :/
