Summary:
This is my first ever "orchestral" composition. The song derived from this piano piece that I was working on and one day I just decided to add more and more instruments on top of the piano and I just suddenly wound up with flute, clarinet, oboe, other woodwinds, brass instruments, string instruments, timpani, snare drum, bass drum, bells and so on. Before I knew it I had a whole entire band part written out. Although, it was no easy task...writing out all those parts for so many instruments took a lot of time, effort and care to make sure that each part does not clash in terms of notes, volume and the colour of the sound. It is because of all these efforts and the fact that this is a very personal song for me that I feel so proud to have composed such a piece. I know it's not excellent and that most parts sound bland (cause all the instruments are computer generated via VST in FL Studio 9) and dull but it's the best I can offer so yes I was just syncing with the song in the video. Regardless, I hope you'll all enjoy this piece :D

Story Behind The Song (this is the kind of blabbermouth description you'd find in conductor scored...):
This piece was merely inspired by nothing but my memories. After my last trip back to China 2 years ago, I have been thinking of my life's past events almost every day. The title "The Nostalgic Meadow" is actually kind of ironic because I remember how as a kid, I was discouraged by my peers. I was told that I would never accomplish anything in life, that I always mess up, that I'm always below everyone else and never belonged anywhere. However, I never gave into those words, just because I refused to believe it. For years, I tried to prove to myself, as well as to others that I was really worth something, that I was good for at least something. Instead of feeling like I was like a parasite in this world, I decided to try finding skills that can give me the confidence to say to myself as well as show my peers "I've achieved (this)" and feel proud about it at the same time.

Years later, I discovered music, which started out as just an outlet for stress, but it quickly became a hobby, which later on, developed into a passion. Now looking at today, having released and sold my first ever album "Diamond Wings" onto iTunes and having so many wonderful supporters from around the world such as yourself viewing and rating my videos makes me feel as if I truly have accomplished something huge. The first person that told me "good job" already showed me that I was worth somebody's time, and now to be able to see these comments every day just makes me feel so warm and happy. It was because of the amazing support that I got from you guys that upon the release date of Diamond Wings, my relatives called, friends IMed me, and parents said to me congratulations and that they were proud of me.Personally, for me was just IT, cause that was the one thing that I've been waiting to hear from them my entire life, especially about something as special as "Diamond Wings".

Today when I look back at these memories, it is very much like a meadow. It was very depressing to look at before, but now I see as something vast and beautiful. It's a lesson to always remind myself that everyone exists in this world for any possible reasons, whether it is to love one another, to care for one another or to just entertain one another.

In general, no one is worthless, even if everyone else says so. Have faith, develop and stick to your own principal and you will find something to provide you with comfort and warmth when everything else seems lost.

Song Layout:
Piano and strings in the beginning should give off a soft, dark and depressing mood to the piece. Once the flute enters, the mood should liven up just a bit. As the brass comes in along with the snare drum and bass drum, it gives power to the song and provide something to build on. The final part rises to double forte with the effect of the suspended cymbal representing hope and happiness. The song dies down and ends with the piano.
