A halfway tongue in cheek tribute to the most exciting politician of our time. He's not the Messiah, but he's a pretty good guy and I believe he can handle the job, uhmm of President I mean, not Lord and Savior.

Ray Davies was always way ahead of his time lyrically, so if the Republicans don't STEAL this election as they have the last two, and Obama is elected and proves to really deliver, then perhaps Ray was right, that a great man of color ia gonna change the world

No, he's not the Messiah, but I know he will be better than George W or John McBush! I always loved this song, and it can be interpreted in many ways, but I hope you agree that Obama is not evil as the fucking Republicans and right wing radio and FOX portray him to be - I believe he can bring people together - God Save The Kinks!

I totally agree with you. This is a great Kinks song and Obama will be a great president. I'm not sure what the Kinks meant with this song, but it's very cool. In fact the whole Misfits album is one of my favorites of all time.
