EXCELLENT JOB! Not only on the vid., but on successfully raising that many seahorses from one birthing!!!!!! I tried that with my H. reidi with no success. I raised the artemia and did all that I was supposed to, but somewhere along the lines something kept happening. They would always be up at the surface (which is normal), but then they'd gulp air. Once they did this, they would spin out and not be able to eat. This would obviously lead to their death. Great job! Thanks for the vid..

OMG!I never saw that tiny seahorses before and I did not know sea horses had a pouch!

About as many people believe seahorses are a myth as know that it is the male that births the young. The pouch is only on the male - thats how we tell tehm apart.

Before you buy them, ask to see them eat frozen mysis. If they aren't eating it now they will likely die before you can train them to eat it.

I've just noticed something! :o
How come the parents are brown but nearly all of the fry are orange/yellow?
Surley their genetics would mean that most are brown?? ;/

Most information suggests that they need a colorful background, green, orange, red to enhance their color. I tried a variety of backgrounds and colored things in the tank but the parents stayed dark. When I set up the baby tanks I used VERY bright lights and soon discovered that hte light intensity is really what gives them color. The seahorses in the higher tanks closer to the light are always bright yellow and the lower tanks they are darker.
