  • Hearing James with an American accent is like hearing Hugh Laurie with a British/English accent

  • The awkward as hell moment when you're just now finding out Spike is not really British. Mindfuck.

  • Hmm I'm just going to admit that I was just lookin at James croch and David's arms the entire time oh baby...it was kinda hard not to

  • omg those armssssss

  • @Mistiewell no way, he was well over 30 when he was first on the show

  • @scuffla He's 49

  • @kak10053 Can barely remember Wesley as I only ever watched one angel episode, but Johnny is indeed a good example...so much so that I sometimes wonder if he would rather be English than American...I guess there are other examples of decent attempts by less ignorant Americans who are aware that Cockney and posh English amount to a minority of English/British speakers

Dominic West seems to do a good job of playing an American as well, judging by what I saw of the Wire, and Andrew Lincoln

  • @SROCeallaigh other Americans that do a great job with British accents are; Alexis Denisof (BtVS and Angel as Wesley), Johnny Depp (mostly for Pirates of the Caribbean) and Chloe Moretz (Hugo, but children are said to pick up accents more quickly than adults). And British actors with great American accents are Hugh Laurie (House), and Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass) there are some more but can't remember all of them.

  • @kak10053 ...I was surprised to find out that James Marsters is American though after seeing him this and unfortunately in Torchwood...his accent is pretty convincing, which rarely happens with American attempts at English accents

  • @kak10053 not really because Hugh Laurie has been in loads of English stuff before he ended up in a dull repetitive US hospital series

  • The problem with Angel was that there wasn't necessarily a best episode per se. The show thrived on having good moments. The show was overall really good, but there were some really spectacular moments.

  • I actually wish that James had a genuine British accent, it suited him more :P
