Robert Young is an American author of books relating to alternative medicine and the alkaline diet. Young is also a naturopath, microbiologist and describes himself as a nutritionist. His most popular works are known as the pH Miracle books, which outline his beliefs about health, holistic healing, and an "alkalarian" lifestyle. He resides in Alpine, Utah as well as at Rancho Del Sol, an avocado and grapefruit ranch in Valley Center, California, with his wife, the author, massage therapist, and chef, Shelley Redford Young. Together, they run "The pH Miracle Center", farm alkaline fruits and vegetables, hold health retreats, and teach live blood analysis and health seminars on what they refer to as "The New Biology", which encompasses theories about the cause and source of disease and how to prevent it through an alkaline diet and a physically active, low-stress lifestyle.

Note the inordinate quantity of self-promotion and validation: "35 years research", "years of experience" "MY research", "my wife wrote a book" and soforth.

Considering what's at stake and how inspiring and vital this information could be, it's really too bad and very telling how substandard and soulless this presentation is. Guy clearly seems sold to me...

...and certainly doesn't appear to be intellectually or creatively equipped to research this area himself, and to have come up with this stuff he doesn't give anybody else credit for. No references at all, only constant mentions of "MY RESEARCH".

Well WHAT research? Where can we find it? Where are the publications? He's just doing a job -a presentation- and appears very focused on making a living out of it in the process, promoting his books.

...typically without going all the way: anything new or alternative will do...

In a way this looks like a mass to me, a cult gathering, and it is obvious the masses will stay away from it, immediately sensing it reeks of quackery.

The system always chooses its puppets to lead challenges against orthodoxy: Alex Jones, David Icked and soforth. It's called the controlled opposition.

This guy doesn't seem enlightened at all, nor inspired, or even particularly bright, ...

  • Well, this just isn't getting interesting and too many unsubstantiated claims. While the general gist of the discourse, that I was already familiar with, clearly makes sense -disease as a symptom of a bad/acidic environment- this guy to me looks like a puppet who was offered the job of popularizing this stuff while keeping it a harmless, hardly scientific fringe movement, designed for the new age alternative crowds, who like to dabble with alternative ideas, ...

  • uh, didnt like the example of water/salt power.... the power was there already, it was just transmitted via the salt/water.
