Boots is a first time freshner giving birth to the second of three kids. She does an awesome job with no assistance from me. The first kid is less than an hour old. They came about every 45 minutes. The kid born looks a bit lifeless but I assure you it is just fine! In the next video, you will see mom clean him up, with a little assistance from me.

  • There are many reasons goats miscarry their kids ranging from nutritional deficiencies to being infected with something. Best is to contact your vet regarding the abortions. There are also many good goat groups on Yahoo. Goats_101 is a great list with many knowldgeable folks who love to help!

  • Thanks for the video. My little nigerian should be giving birth anytime now, but she's making us wait ;o) I have 15 goats and never once seen a birth of a goat! I got her on my front porch in hopes of seeing her giving birth. I guess I've been super lucky too, all live births, healthy happy and clean when I find them. (And I'm not a bad mom, I check every 30mins to an hour) I just hope my little Fudge Possum has a safe and healthy kidding. Thanks again for your video, it has eased my fears!
