Colonists came for many reasons. They came to explore, make money, practice their religion freely, and live on land of their own. The Pilgrims and Puritans came to America to practice religious freedom.
England broke away from the Roman Catholic Church and created the Church of England. Everyone in Eng.HAD to belong to the church. A group called Separatists,under the leadership of Wm Bradford, decided to leave England and start a settlement of their own so that they could worship freely.

The muslim religion is completely different then christianity or jewdaism. In the bible we have the old books and the new books, jews do not believe in the new books aka Jesus Christ.

This country was NOT founded with a national religion - That was one of the reasons people were leaving Europe - they wanted religious freedom. Remember - we learned this in fourth grade history. Pilgrims, Puritans all left because they did not want to join the Church of England. We don't have that here - we were founded as a secular nation. He isn't saying that Christians are bad - why is everyone so offended by this. Jefferson, a Diest, talked of a wall of separation between church/state.

If we are a predominatly christian nation that doesnt mean that we are a christian nation. The constitution clearly states that we are a secular country.

And the Muslim religion! Christianity, Judaism, AND Islam -- all stem from the same origins. That's why they're considered the "Western Religions" unlike Hinduism, Buddhism, Paganism, etc. I love how everyone leaves out Islam as part of Christian's history.
