I love this version, adore the Arnies Love version.
Something in me says this song was written with Al Jarreau in mind. It has that feel.

My god, I've never heard this original until now. Must confess though, that I still prefer Arnie's Love's cover version.

The lead vocalist on Arnie's Love version was in fact Arnold Josephs. I know because I was in the studio when he recorded it back in 1983 in New York City. I too like Arne's version better. I was his bass player then. His brother is Tony Lee, who did the song Reach Up, another classic track.

Wow, i'm with the rest of you, i had no idea this existed. But Arnie's Love's version is better. Now i must hunt down this version.
I've always wondered who the lead vocal on Arnie's Love was, i had this feeling that it was Billy Griffin, maybe someone knows.

what a beautiful revelation. Not knowing that this was a cover version has absolutely amazed me. How unusually beautiful to have air in my lungs to come across this rough diamond of a tune. Still like the 1983 verson more, though.

This is from their 1982 album, wow I never knew the Arnie's Love version (November 1983)was a cover. This song was British all along!!!
