The Scorpion-L is the flagship model knife of the Kizlyar Knives company and was the first serial numbered knife ever produced. The knife has been in production for nearly 13 years as has maintained its popularity throughout this time.
With smooth lines and eye catching style, its uniqueness and its functional form combine to make it a most attractive knife, being both a pleasure to use and a pleasure to behold. Although seemingly a purely decorative piece, the knife is actually designed for heavy work. It has been used by several military units of the Russian Federation. It has also been presented as token of service to certain selected soldiers by President Putin at the end of the second Chechen war.
The knife features a uniquely formed grip, which is contoured for individual finger grip but also for the swell of the hand forming a coke bottle shape that fits comfortably in the hand.
The blade is of full tang construction and is both epoxy fastened and riveted to the knife tang.
A special construction process is utilised to avoid splitting of the wood. This being that the handle slabs are cut on an angle so that the wood grain runs at a bisecting angle in respect to the surface of the handle slab to preventing cracking. The wood is also impregnated with natural oils that preserve it and prevent warping.
The blade is mirror polished and then deep etched using several treatments of an acid etching process that yields a detailed 3 dimensional picture. The depth of the etching offsets the wearing-off of the image over time and prolonged use. The image is then completed with hand engraving to render a finer detail.

Total length: 322mm
Blade: 182mm
