"BANACEK" had two things going for it. First: Every week the mystery was a magic trick. The whole thing was an illusion. It must have bored Doug Henning to death. Second: Christine Belford. With her sultry voice and face to match, she made the two hours fly.

It is too bad there was never a third series that could have ended with Carly and Banacek hooking up permanently.

  • TV died after Miami Vice went off the air.....miss TV of the 60's 70's and 80's....

  • @farnumbp I say the same thing also

  • @farnumbp @unclefishbits @doctorw2 - if you look at the video "Banacek Series Two Closing," you'll see in the credits she's called Arlene Martel (not Arlene "Martell" as it's spelt there by mistake).

  • Why can't they make shows like this today? I agree about that girl in the limo , legs to die for.

  • Name of that woman please? Likely the finest acting I have seen in my life.

  • WOW DID YOU SEE THE LEGGS ON THAT GIRL GETTING OUT OF THE LIMO MY GOD!

  • @pawt1963

And a great taste in limousines! (That is a '73 Cadillac limousine.)

  • Great theme song, but they wouldn't stop tinkering with the opening. There was a different arrangement and a different montage for almost every episode. I was rather fond of this one, though; Banacek had great taste in dinner companions.
