I always loved how the melody/harmony line starting at 0:49 sounds like traditional Chinese music. Again at 2:09, though this line is actually in the bass part all through the piece.

Another thing about SD3's soundtrack are the beats, which are some of the best to come out of the golden age of console RPGs. I'm making a vow tonight, a vow that someday I'll make a DJ mix using these beats and some of the melody lines.
