I don't known why laser designator is armed, maybe he lased target before to get precise range to target, but this is used (but not required) only with WCMD version of this bomb.

@Orthodoxcrusader Your numbers are just a bit off, but that's no surprise given the babbling nonsense you seem to be spouting here and on your profile. US GDP was roughly 14.5 trillion in 2010 and military spending, including occupation costs were roughly 800billion in 2010. If you can cite any reliable and cohesive source indicating that half of the US troops are currently "crippled and dying" I will eat my hat.

Here's a Wiki quote on Mig-29 history from the Kosovo War which I guess this footage is from "A total of six MiG-29s were shot down during the Kosovo War, of which three were shot down by USAF F-15s, one by a USAF F-16, and one by a Dutch F-16. One aircraft, according to pilot, was hit by friendly fire from the ground. Another four were destroyed on the ground. Some Russian sources claim that a MiG-29 shot down an F-16 on 26 March 1999, but this kill is disputed"

@Jasminewynja I think Jasmine is a beautiful name for a pretty young woman. I'd take beautiful ladies a very long time before I'd resort to war. In war your lucky to come out in one piece.
