Reporting is available at the ad group level (although it originally launched at the campaign level). Once you stop using the feature, calls will stop forwarding to your business after a couple days. The forwarding numbers are then returned to the end of a queue for reassignment. If errant calls are ever a problem, report the issue to ÅdWords customer service and request a new number.

  • A few questions. Does this track to the keyword or adgroup level? Also, what happens if I stop using it? Do they recycle the number and I lose out on any calls that would have been connected to me? Will another company get a call for my business? Will I get calls from other businesses?

  • @nickalt Just called the number and it's working now.

  • I'm a little shocked that the phone number used in the ad is dead.

  • It's great to finally see google getting into the tracking game. :) There are far too many old-school inbound DID providers out there with poor UI design and analytics capabilities. Calls are similar to any other action (clicks & impressions). Nicely done.

  • This call metric is really cool! you know what you would be great? if when a person clicks on the ad google can pass that number as a variable. then we can use the number from the ad to display on our site in stead of our regular number. this way if the person calls and buys once on our site we can still attribute the sale to the ad.
