The extraordinary true story of Oliver Woodward. It's 1916 and Woodward must tear himself from his new young love to go to the mud and carnage of the Western Front. Deep beneath the German lines, Woodward and his secret platoon of Australian tunnelers fight to defend a leaking, labyrinthine tunnel system packed with enough high explosives to change the course of the War.
i was looking for a good world war one film to watch. after several, i was so disturbed by all the main charactures dying, that i decided that i wanted to watch a GOOD WW1 film with a happy ending- Thought this was 'the one'... until i saw the last 5 minutes. Great film though, approaches the western front from a new angle- aposed to the endless amounts of films about the somme, vimy ridge, verdun ect.
