Dr. Dianne DeTurris, a professor in aerospace engineering at Cal Poly, presented Hypersonic! How Commercial Space Flight Works at Science Cafe in Kennedy Library, January 2012.
Before her talk, Science Cafe student assistant Jordan Hooper asked Dr. DeTurris a few questions. In this short video interview she talks briefly about why she didn't become an astronaut, what her experience has been as a woman in the field, her current research in hypersonics and thoughts on other life in the universe.
