Here is why it is wrong. Perhaps these kids are guilty of a crime. So charge them with a complaint and hold them for trial. Let the judge decide. When police do this that makes them judge. What need do you have for courts then? Is there an attorney present? Did they enter a plea? Are you sure they are guilty? Did the witnesses speak? What is the crime? This is not justice. It is the beginnings of Chaos. A lawlessness.

@johnknoefler here's why it's right. Pakistan, with however many millions of citizens, does not have the money for a legal system like in the U.S., U.K., or whatever. If they tried what you suggest, there would be year-long waits for a trial, and that isn't justice either.

If I were to commit a small crime in Pakistan, I would take a spanking hands down over a permanent mark on my record, legal fees, etc.
