This guy is an absolute scumbag.
He gives the most absurd melodramatic speech against dog fighting but was a member of the KKK. He endorses the lynching and persecution of an entire group of people based on their skin color.
Yeah what a great hero. NOT!

What Micheal Vick did was Barbaric and Byrd was right to call his ass out on it. If that makes him a racist then count me in. Micheal Vicks smirking dog torturing hind end should still be sitting in jail. This man has done more in one day with his little finger for poor blacks and whites than all you GOP ass kissing chumps.

Byrd is an American hero; the general consensus in the black community is that Byrd did more in his last 30 years to advance civil rights than he did in his first 20 to block civil rights. Again, Byrd, unlike Trent Lott and Strom Thurmond, renounced his earlier, racist ideas. Call him what you want; he will always be regarded as one of the true Senatorial giants.
