Fr. Jerzy is a martyr and should be elevated to sainthood as soon as possible. Please join me in praying that this "Martyr of Poland" will be allowed to join John Paul II in Sainthood and as a co-worker in the downfall of Communism.

A martyr for the cause of freedom. One of his assailants broke down and confessed "I never thought it was possible for a man to withstand such severe torture." Father Jerzy was a hero and a champion of liberty. He is one of the unsung heroes of the 20th Century. I am in awe as I type these words. God bless Father Jerzy.

@serreosoo8 Fr Jerzy's mother is still alive today and when she found out that the body of her son was found she went into the church where her son preached and shouted out "I FORGIVE THEM, I FORGIVE AND YOU SHOULD TOO." My uncle is a priest in Warsaw and was very good friends with Fr. Jerzy.

@joe18621 my uncle knew Fr Popieluszko personally and remembers very well the day they announced his abduction and when they found his battered body in the Vistula River at Wroclawek.
