  • Didn'r your mother ever teach you not to play with fire?

Grow up, go to a garage and get it done right!

  • Uh... we had been to 3 tire shops already.. none of them could do it. The rim was aftermarket, and too wide for the tire. When you are 500 miles from home, you make due with what you have.

  • @Bauksi Iv never tryed this my self but it seams like catching fire would be more commen. Interesting. I also have no idea how hard it is to put out a tire. Watching people videos it looks like no big deal most people swat the tire fire with there hands. Ill keep this in mind if i ever need to try to reseat a tire this way.

  • @Pooshooter5k

The tires very rarely catch fire. What usually burns are the fumes from the spray and stuff on the tires surface. You should be more worried about the tire or wheel injuring someone if it bounces. Keep it on the hub and keep a fire extinguisher near by. There should be a fire extinguisher in every modified 4x4 anyway, so one should not be far away.

  • @Bauksi Thats a good idea then when it catches fire it will take care of the whole rig not just the tire.

  • To add to my previous post.

I would keep the wheel bolted to the vehicle. The wheel and tire can bounce around and cause injury to people or damage to surrounding vehicles. Its also easier to get to the wheel to inflate it if it stays still.

  • This is an effective way of seating beads. But it should really be a last resort.

One thing to keep in mind is that you need to take the core out of the valve. When the starting fluid ignites it heats and expands the air inside the tire, seating the beads. When the fire dies out the positive pressure created by the heat turns to a vacuum, you need to quickly get an airhose on the valve to keep the tire from caving in and become unseated.

  • I put too much starting fluid and my brand new tire exploded and was desteoyed , IF you want to make tire explode USE starting fluid ,,

  • dumbest idea known to rednecks... its too hard to control how much pressure is put in the tire in the explosion so have fun blowin urself . it might work the first 3 times but its still dangerous and u will get hurt

  • Oh yeah it works. It also puts people in the hospital and almost kills them. THis shit is stupid. My dad is in the hospital blind for life and all the bones in his face are broken from this shit. I don't care how long you have been doing it or how much experience you have its fucking dangerous. YOu get the wrong tire or a bad one and you are ruined for the rest of your life.
