In honor of Michael Jordan's birthday, Coach Nick breaks down this classic game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Chicago Bulls from May 7, 1989. This win catapulted the Bulls to eventual greatness, while the Cavaliers suffered multiple injuries to key players and never recovered til LeBron James joined the team.

CoolerKing37, even when the Bulls were winning titles, there was always rumors that Michael Jordan HATED Jerry Krause and/or Jerry Reinsdorf. Maybe the surprising firing of Doug Collins(and trading his buddy Charles Oakley) started that hatred. I just read that it may have been J.Reinsdorf's WIFE that Doug Collins was creepin with

RealRawwRecord, we are in the minority, most fans want to see the game discussed/broken down by 2 or more STOOGES doing schtick!! We can thank ESPN for that

Yeah, MJ got along really well with Collins and had a lot of respect for him. It was Phil Jackson who Michael didn't like at the time.

Doug Collins 'Gettin It In' with the owner's daughter is a VERY believable theory as to why he was fired when you consider the Bulls were coming off a season in which they surprised everyone by knocking off Cleveland, then New York and advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they lost in 6 games

I always thought Doug Collins got fired because Michael Jordan didn't like him, but realized that wasn't true when MJ came back to play for the Wizards and hired D.Collins to be his coach.

Doug Collins' offensive sets still lack spacing to this day, which explains the 76ers' poor offensive efficiency. He needs a competent offensive assistant coach.
