LAS VEGAS — The blue-and-yellow color scheme of Chevrolet's Camaro GS Racecar Concept evokes memories of the late Mark Donohue's championship-winning Camaro from the 1969 Trans Am series. The concept will be on display at the 2008 SEMA Show.

The GS concept was developed by North Carolina-based Riley Technologies, working with GM's Performance Vehicle Operations. Riley already is developing a similar GS-class racing car for the 2009 Grand Am Koni Challenge series.

The SEMA car boasts a reinforced chassis and a race-ready suspension, with a production LS3 V8 and a Tremec six-speed manual gearbox. Riley adds a C&R racing radiator, upgraded oil, trans and differential coolers and a 3-inch exhaust system with Coast Fab mufflers.

To keep track weight down, the 2010 Camaro gets a carbon fiber hood, deck lid, doors and fenders. The Donohue-inspired deep-blue paint scheme is accented with yellow graphics, yellow racing wheels and a yellow cockpit.

  • The camaro is awsome its realy nice buy you cant see shit for nothing out the back window

  • Wow RS looks very very good !!!

  • @TheGreatIndoors1979 Believe me, Trans-Am or some iteration of it, will make a strong comeback. But that will take some time. I want Trans-Am back. It is much more significant to racing in America as an overall craft and sport than NASCAR. Grand-AM looks to be like the LeMans Series but with more permissive rules. I think Trans-Am, once SCCA gets it together, will become America's DTM or JGTC, just much closer to the production cars.

  • @knutfheifer You couldnt explain shit to me... BTFW An American car lasts about 40-45 years, which is about 2-3 times more than any other car, except for mercedes, thatll last just as long as American cars... YOU FAIL

  • @DeathValleyRoad The reason brit cars are more expensive is because they are far superior quality and they last longer too, for example, if you compare a jaguar to your new impala, the jag will win every time because it's the eye of the tiger, you can't win, now answer me now, quick! too slow you loose

  • @knutfheifer Haha you FAIL, what a shit weak comment DAMN, please explain fool how does it have 'no handling' and how is it anyhow 'unreliable'. Please I wanna laugh. I cant think of just one normal Brit car thats not too overpriced or lasts as long as American cars. You know whats a dream?? A Brit Muscle car, thats a dream...

  • it's a concept, thats all, a dream that will never be fullfilled because americans can't get it right, too heavy too unreliable and no handling lol at this

  • So why isn't there a racing series like the '60 Trans-am, which feature all these retro-looking Ford Mustangs, Dodge Challengers, Chevrolet Camaros and Pontiac Trans-ams. Road-racing in America needs to get organised, it has been long overdue. The American road-circuits are some of the best in the world and they aren't well-used at the moment.

(Just my humble opinion as an European.)

  • @SuperSlapped thats wht im saying.. screw the v6 wen u can spend a lil more and get a v8
