The goal of IQ2 US is to raise the level of public discourse on our most challenging issues. To provide a new forum for intelligent discussion, grounded in facts and informed by reasoned analysis. To transcend the toxically emotional and the reflexively ideological. To encourage recognition that the opposing side has intellectually respectable views. To engage the live audience as active participants who will ask questions and decide which speakers have carried the day by voting on the motions both before and after the debate.

  • @jarrbear05 companies do stupid stuff all the time. The fact that they are private doesn't make the people who run them any less retarded.

  • @fdkhsdhkskjhvkdf

It has been demonstrated by each speaker that there are ways of increasing efficiency which simultaneously reduce C02.

This is not a black and white argument and although I agree with you generally, when you say 'it will have no effect whatsoever' you are oversimplifying things. The problem is that we frame the debate around C02, when it should be about energy, sustainability and post-material growth.

  • That was the most blatant shifting of ground that I have ever seen,

Turn off you lights and buying a tesla couched in the same breath as if they were the same thing.

Classic leftist/facsist, telling people she knows how to run their lives/business/money than they do.

I will go out on a limb and say she is the stupidest person I have hear speak all year, How does she teach anything to anyone?

  • It's unbelievable that all the companies in America are pissing away money on purpose and need the government to step in and explain how to run things. How'd that work in the soviet union?

  • Nobody is arguing against saving money. Fine, do all the things that saves money AND CO2, no climate skeptic will complain about that.

What this debate is about however is if it's worth SPENDING money to save CO2. Will that have a positive outcome on the climate, and will it be worth the money? In my opinion, most likely it will have no effect whatsoever. It would be a complete waste of money.

  • we can do this we can do that ,but you haven,t.

  • Wow she did say Saudi Arabia is financing terrorism.
