great tips man..
one small thing tho.. if beginners are doing this exercise they should practice looking forward and ahead of them.. not at their handle bars, instrument panel etc.. it makes for good practice just to get the feel of the bike without fixating.. which at a stop light could make you tip..

Thanks it helps I am considering for the first time riding a bike just because of the gas mileage i dont weigh alot at around 165 lbs. and was wondering if bikes are too heavy for me?

@hackneo64 i took it on a 600 mile trip over two days and it was pretty comfortable, 100 miles was through the rain and it handled very well and i never felt unsafe (except for maybe some shitty drivers on the road). it's really a great bike, works well around the city (Chicago) although i may need to adjust the suspension a bit to accomodate our annual pothole accumulation in the spring.

Your weight is not an issue, it's always a good idea to try a bike first to see how you balance.
