I should probably elaborate a bit more. The train you save at the beginning of the stage and the one you chase at the end are two completely different trains. The first one is full of innocent civilians and Dr. Eggman is putting it in danger because he knows that Sonic will try to save it and while Sonic is distracted, he can get away with Elise.

You know, I give credit to Silver's Voice actor in this game. No seriously, you can tell he's actually Trying with what he does, its just that he doesn't pull it off too well. Its Passable, at times. usually bad, but at least he's trying. Jason Griffith just sounds like he's doing the sonic or shadow voice, and reading off the lines.
