Count D is NOT a vampire, and the initial in his name has absolutely nothing to do with him. On the manga, Leon THINKS that D is a vampire, but D's father later refutes it. On the vol.10 is revealed that he's not human but according to D's father, they are the last of an ancient Chinese civilization that was very close to animals.

Just because more manga was made doesn't mean more anime will be made. Air Gear only had one season, and that was only up to around chapter 80. There are around 170 chapters at the moment.

Anime costs more money to make then manga.

@NalaKauff Everyone says he supposed to be a Sokuketsu (Plant kami). That explains the vines that sprout from his wounds and the ability of his family to clone themselves, I guess, but I thought the same thing as you when I read the ending. It was very confusing. lol
