@randomman4 Yes, they are, but there are two forms of 1/4" jacks.

TRS - Tip Ring Sleeve which offers a balance signal,

TS - Tip Sleeve which is an unbalanced cable.

Comments below a bit out of order...! Yer not ugly at all ! ignore these eedjits ! Anyway was just gonna say dont have them so close to the wall and have them facing at an angle so they`re both facing towards your head when your sitting at your desk ! unless you just use them as ordinary speakers as opposed to monitoring ! How much were they? $149 i think...? That means over here in Britain they`ll be twice that amount probably ! Still Worth giving them a demo when i get proper monitors!Peace !

Thanks for the review, How are you connecting them to the iMAC? I also have an Imac wanted to get more space on my desk. Would the AV40 setup be better than what I have : Tannoy Reveal near field speakers and Samson Servo 260 Power Amplifier ?
