I never knew Amtrak did that! I only thought they were a passenger train. I see Amtrak alot where I live but I've never seen one hauling cars! But awesome video!

I RIDE THE AUTO TRAIN QUITE FREQUENTLY AND SOMETIMES I SET UP MY GPS JUST TO RECORD THE SPEED OF THE TRAIN. 72 MPH SPEED LIMIT? SOMETIMES THEY DO "CHEAT" A LITTLE BIT ESPECIALLY DURING THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!

Amtrak needs to make some major improvements in their quality of service for the Auto Train (among other things) to be available to people nationwide.

I m not sure of al of the subs, but if you look atlas on Amtraks website, It is th eroute which the Metor travels. I know that NS interchanges in Savannah, You might see it there. The Auto train makes a midnight stop in Florence,SC to service and refuel. Dont know if it still stops there. Nontheless, the autotrain exclusivele runs on CSX line formerly the Atlantic Coast Line. The only two places to see it in daylight is Jacksonville and Richmond.

whats the 50 mph speed restriction through folkston Ga for anyway? and what subs do most of the amtrak's run on through town? and how far is the NS from there?

The max speed for the Autotrain is 72 MPH. They travel at 70. Usually, they reach that speed in areas between city. I rode it a few years ago. We we're 20 minutes ahead of schedule. Folkston has a speed restriction of 50 MPH. Once it leaves North , its full throttle.
