I was fortunate to not just see Tim perform live several times, but also to be able to hang out with him and drive him to San Diego to do radio interviews. He had a zany sense of humor that matched mine and we laughed our asses off the entire time. I still listen to his music alot....he was a gifted and rare musician.

Jeff has claimed that he's never been influenced by his Tim's work. His mom even says that his love and skill for music was something he created all by him, which I believe. Jeff said that he never listened to Tim's albums, but these men in this documentary are saying that Jeff admired Tim's later work. I don't know where they got this information. It's obvious about who we should believe. It's interesting though because listening to Jeff, you do hear at times some of Tim's style. Idk.

Having heard more of his music and read some more about him, I can appreciate that he was an artist that just could not be categorised. His was a very special gift, but his passing has left us such a wonderful legacy. You are very lucky to have known him. Thanks for replying to me. Sorry if my first comment sounded stupid.

Tim's LPs, like his artistic journey, have a trajectory: a beginning, middle, and denouement. If you're interested in understanding him, listen to them as a whole. I'd even say to start where he did. That said, if you like "Pleasant Street" you can get a two-fer CD with his debut and "Goodbye and Hello" which has your song. You'll see a wide-eyed folkie change before your very ears. Then get "Happy Sad" and Blue Afternoon." "Starsailor" and "Lorca" are a challenging listen for most.

No way! With Tim, you need to listen to his albums as full things. While you could totally put a disc of songs together, it is important to see what changes he went through piece by piece. Goodbye and Hello is not bad to start from, then try Happy/Sad...
