MMM made over a million dollars a year and that was a lot f money in the 1920's her mother Charlotte wanted to control every last cent!

Changes in style and taste render many silent screen idols as not very attractive by today's standards but Mary Minter remains very pretty, if a bit lollycon which was marketable long before Japanese cartoon art. Same goes for Jack Pickford's ill-fated wife Olive Thomas, a beautiful girl in any age. But sad lives overall.

Today she would be considered too fat. I think she was beautiful.

I read that towards the end of her life she had become a "Baby Jane Hudson" type of woman.

This is a nice tribute but I still think she was a "Pickford wannabe". In my opinion, Mary Pickford was more beautiful and talented although MMM was quite lovely in her own rite.

I wanted to look up pictures of MMM after reading about the Taylor murder online at Trucrime. Watching this is like being transported to the 1920's. Not only was she beautiful, she has an ethereal quality about her that really comes through in the photos and film clips. It's a shame that her life was so tragic.

Thank you. Most of the hard work was sepia-toning all the images but I was amazed at the quality of photography in those days.
