The country observes Veterans Day- honoring those who have fought for the nation. Several local ceremonies are set to take place across the area today. A wreath-laying is scheduled for this morning at the Burnside Building in Bristol, followed by a ceremony at the Rhode Island Veteran's Home. North Kingstown holds a Veterans' Day parade beginning at 10:00 this morning, and at noon, a wreath will be cast at Battleship Cove in Fall River. All local, state and federal offices are closed today. Banks, schools and libraries will also be closed. There's no mail delivery, and RIPTA is on a holiday schedule.
