  • Who uses a fly to catch bluegill's?

  • A lot of people including me since I was just a kid old enough to hold a fly rod.

  • Excellent video. I was wondering, what do you mean when you say it's an "attractor fly" for the bluegill? Oh, and is that just plain ol chenille yarn? Thanks!

  • An attractor pattern is a pattern that doesn't really look like anything in particular but is found to catch fish no matter what the conditions. And yes, that's plain old chenille.

  • @Omen4500 a lot of people. you can flyfish for literally anything.

  • @Omen4500 If you have never tried fly fishing for bluegill then I suggest you take it up. The majority of their food consists of various insects and if you can learn to use flies to match what they are after you will catch a heck of a lot more of them. It's also more fun to see them take a fly on the surface when using dry flies. The fly this gentleman was tying, or any similar fly with a dark silhouette, is absolutely deadly all night long and will catch any other fish as well.

  • Just remember when you are tying, that nothing in nature is perfect or even. so dont clip the leggs straight accross

  • Very good B-G fly for beginners to tie and fish

  • @Omen4500 I bluegill fish with a fly all thru the warmer months. Great fun and I keeps the skills up.

  • This dumb little fly looks like nothing I have killed crappies, bluegills, bass, and even caught a 10 pound Chanel cat on this with my 4 weight rod

  • @Omen4500 iam use since 1 year ago :)
