Great movie and please note there's a new remastered BluRay disc of this coming out in the UK in just a few months time from the BFI. + in Europe, new BluRays of MACON and PROSPERO'S BOOKS. Great filmmaker!

The honking car horn leading up to the crash (starting about 0:57) sounds exactly the same as the opening to "The Friends of Mr. Cairo" by Jon & Vangelis (1981). Some audio sampling at play, no doubt.

At the end of the credits, anyone notice how it says 'Architect Dies' on the right hand side of the paper? Perhaps a reference to The Belly Of An Architect...or maybe I'm just over analyzing....Ö)

Very deliberate. You'll also notice "A Cold Smell" accompanied by the noseless statue, another Belly of an Architect reference and "A Hot Bath Heart-Attack", a Drowning by Numbers reference. This film and Drowning by Numbers were also referenced in his 1980 film The Falls.
