You know this music brings back memories of Dad (Ron Smith from the Art Smith Trio) playing and taking after Frank Yankovic. Dad said he received his first big accordian from Frank. I have learned to appreciate polka music more. Wish I could go back to the old days sometimes when Dad would play and Mom would have us girls learning how to dance.
I saw Frank in Sheboygan, WI in the late 40's when he played
at the old Sheboygan Paladium. I got an autographed picture
of him then. (He was my idol!) Many years later, he made what was probably his last Wisconsin appearance in Cedarburg. I couldn't resist not seeing him. I took the picture that he autographed back in the 40's. He was astonished and happily autographed it again! I will always treasure those two moments.
Just listening to Frankie and his music brought tears to my eyes of an era gone by. I danced to his music many times and now am 74 years old with arthritis in my knees and cannot dance any more and that is so sad. Thanks for posting this wonderful part of my life.

Yankovic's music is just terrific; it makes you want to get up and dance even though you might not know how to Polka
