U.S. Senators Mark Begich and John Thune spearheaded a letter last week expressing outrage over the recent awarding of $13 million in bonus pay to 10 executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Begich and Thune sent the bipartisan letter, signed by 58 other senators, to Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Acting Director Edward DeMarco and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner calling the bonuses wasteful and wildly imprudent.

Today, Sen. Begich was a guest on Fox and Friends, expanding on the letter, saying Secretary Geithner needs to intervene and review the practices as Fannie and Freddie have billions of dollars in taxpayer money and are not doing a good job of helping Americans refinance to stay in their homes.

  • I volunteered for begich and am very disappointed in him.

  • Sellout. I go

  • This is all miniscule. Good photo op at best. Join Bernie Sanders in investigating the Fed, then we can talk.
