  • I have seen a lot of Hedrick family mailboxes in that area! My family, the Skidmores, originally settled in that area, before moving on to Braxton County.

  • All of my family back thru the 1800's were born and raised in and around this valley. Most of them are buried in the North Fork Cemetary in the middle the valley, The Monumet for CMH winner Clinton Hedrick from World War II is also there. The view from the overlook is always changing.

  • @michael6076 the view from the tower thing they have at pipestem is a little better. its right at the entrance to the camp ground, it always open , just a big wood tower you take steps up to the top. once your up they claim it's the highest place in wv.

  • To those who think there is nothing to do in WV you are crazy! Just because we dont have some huge city like NY or Vegas or a beach or something there is still lots to do you just have have to get off your butts and go on a bike ride or go camping or horseback riding or go ride the Cass train or go to a WVU or Marshall football game! We have malls and other stuff too but u are missing out if you don't see and experience the wild and wonderful West Virginia!

  • @tokiohotelfantic89 Same here. :/

  • @meoddball There's nothing at all to do in WV.

I have never been there but My Uncle Irvin, told me of this place. I have been traveled Broadway , Va. to Fort Seybert our Home place through the Indian Trails. He wanted to take me and My Family Siblings there. I regret not being able to do this with this Man. He was a Experienced Backwoodsman. Learned it all from our relatives Nesselrodt's, Mitchells and Fitzwater family. We are the Indian side of the Nesselrodt's.

    My Grandfather Wellington Hedrick.

  • WV is the most wonderful place to live

  • I remember when my friends found out that I was moving to beautiful West Virginia, they asked me if I was crazy???!!! Hell yeah!! I'm surrounded by trees, and I can't see my neighbors!!!!!!!! There are so many things to do here. If I ever had to move back to a populated area, I think I would go nuts!

  • Another beautiful spot in the WV Mountains! Thanks for sharing it!
