uhh, You might have seen some characters are form other games and anime. I'm not sure who are original and who are not. So Kanta could be form another game, and they used him in this game.

It's a bit hard to describe. Go to Wikipedia and type in "Pop'n Music". The page there has an image of the arcade game. For the home version just imagine a controller about the size of a keyboard with buttons like the one on the arcade. :)
