Today I saw at Monza Circuit the 2011 Audi LMP1 race car during a test session for the 24h of Mans. I hoped that the new V6 engine would sound louder than the old Audi engine. Unfortunatlely it's quiter. The sound is like a strong wind flush.

THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!

  • @19Bozzy92 and @tasracho ,if this is so called sound, then how would you call this,

    /watch?v=QtUEPwHnxmU

    enjoy

  • @99rsk I put "SOUND" in the title because at least in my video you can hear a bit of sound (and not as when it is racing with other noisier cars).

But what I do not understand is why many people continue to compare a diesel car with the best sounding cars in the world. I'm honest, I don't like at all the so quiet sound of this R18, but I love the sound of the 2011 Peugeot 908. It is diesel but it makes noise. And I've never thought to compare a diesel car to a petrol one (in terms of sound)

  • @19Bozzy92 only thing I can reply, you made your point,

    btw you saw the lijnk?

  • @99rsk Of course. And I liked it ;)

  • i love those le mans cars! and thanks for the video!

  • @ynnckynnck No problem ;)

  • With a Diesel you don't have to rev the piss out of it to get somewhere. They make wicked torque at low rpms. Hence why they accelerate like crazy. Better fuel efficiency due to less RPM's and more BTU per volume compared to a gas engine.

  • @99rsk yeah Mustangs are nice, ive been fortunate enough to see one fly as there are a couple here in Australia...the Messerschmidt's are still better though :P

  • @TtimWh euhhh, they stole my grandfather's bike when they were on the run at the end of WW2 and they won the WC footbal back in '74.just kidding.think we're going a bit of topic now,so here's my last one, a wining P-51,

  • @99rsk lol wats ur problem with german people? yeah the RR aero engines do sound great, or any other aero engine for that matter...but i just love the loud supercharger whine of the 109's when the come in on a dive...fuck id love to see one of those in action one day.

  • @TtimWh I hate german talking people(lol)

    but I disagree,nothing can beat a RR-merlin or griffon.

  • @TtimWh sorry,the 917/10 was a 5ltr and also flat-12.never to old to learn.........

  • @99rsk hey, you're mistaken, the Porsche 917/30 has a 5.4L twin turbo flat 12, with a much different sound to a v8. Those sauber mecedes's v8's you linked do sound quite orgasmic though, as do the brm 16cyl. But for the greatest engine sound ever, you must watch this video, it is pure eargasm :)

  • @TtimWh I was already aware of this car, the roger penske, sunoco sponsored porsche 917/30.(driven by mark donohue)5 ltr v-8,1000+ hp in qualifing trim.

    agiant,talking about engine sound,

    v-8, /watch?v=NUjaJuAbdkw&list=FL3XKloFiCforelYsau1-kWQ&index=2&feature=plpp_video

    enjoy

  • When I was at Le Mans last year I quite liked the sound of the Audi's when in the mix with the other cars, visibly they look so quick, but with a jet like sound like no other race car it makes them seem almost ruthlessly efficient. The Peugeots sounded almost crude in comparison. Although it was hard to top the sound of the Corvette thundering out of the trees during the night, unforgettable. Search for Le Mans night onboard 2011!

  • @Napalmvieh But the cars are not equal. The rules set up a situation in which gas-powered cars cannot win. I'm sure this will change with Peugeot's exit and Toyota's entrance, however.
