My simple QRP tranverter for 136/137kHz using an IRF510 PA producing 8W RF. The transverter is about as simple as one can get. It is used with the FT817 in split mode receiving directly on 136/137kHz (via the small tuned preamp in the transverter) and mixes down from 10.136kHz on transmit. Best DX so far with a small loop in the garden (50uW ERP) is 148km on WSPR TX., Best receive DX is 951km from Sweden. A simple way to get on the 136kHz band. More information on my website www.g3xbm.co.uk .

  • You meant 10.136MHz, right?

I wonder how it would do with a balloon antenna!..

I just figured a 500 meter quarter wave should tune it!
