John Piper: Reality

He's still not asking for money, and I question your definition of "sick." His main point here is that life is not about some fatalistic mad-grab for experiences. The world shoves THINGS WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY down our throats, but it will not ultimately satisfy. Only the joy of knowing Jesus can bring that, which Piper goes on about here. Sure, it sounds sappy from the outside, but it's because we're so often blinded by pacifying entertainment, achievements and lies of monetary fulfillment.

I've watched a few of your videos John, and you have no grip on reality at all!
Reality is not a set of jewish myths form a superstitious time.
The bible is plagarised from the torah and the koran from the bible.
And it's all just the only explanation primitive people had for tectonic movement, electrical storms, weather, life cycles et al.
Forget it and live your life. Then die and go back to the stars from whence you came, like the rest of us.
Peace.

I don't give money to a cable company nor have I been in a bar for years. The fact is that religious nut jobs are sick and just because others might be sick doesn't mean they aren't. So get a grip on reality and stop trying to be clever with your intellectual superiors.

Giving money to the Cable Company or Bartender is a much better use of funds, yeah? I didn't hear Piper ask for money. It may surprise some, but churches don't magically grow money on trees they need givers who support their cause. You're correct that swindlers are out there, and many who lack discernment will give them money. They exist on TV, the internet and in local churches. John Piper, however, is not one of them.
Our lives are but a vapor, fleeting, and Piper's driving that home here.
