On Tuesday April 15th an "art" project was put up at the Student Center at the University of Maine at Farmington. It is of note that we did not put on this display and we do not support this display. Also, people were threatened with arrest if they picked up the flags off the ground.

man it would have been nice to see the two whit shit taped to their backs get their heads bounced off that floor. Disrespectful shits. Their moms should have swallowed.
the flag is a symbol of freedom. this girl did the project to see how many people would walk around and respect the flag. as the this says it is important to him and therefore her project showed that people still respect it. However she is showing her freedom of expression in a public place and this shouldn't be revoked
Yes. Because I fought for the right for that to happen. Do you see. In America we have freedom of speech and that includes things that may be considered unpatriotic. I have several friends and relatives who are veterans including my mother and not one of them made this into a big deal because that IS what they fought for. Freedom. I am not saying that I would have done this art project.
I was just letting you know that it didn't need to be burned because it wasn't a real flag. And all the little flags were added, at least that is my understanding, before the veteran got there. They were not part of the art project. The other thing this video doesn't show (since it is biased, it was actually used to further someone's political career. Someone was running for state office and used this as propaganda why he should be elected) is that the veteran was granted locations to peacefully
protest but he denied it at first. The veteran was also breaking the law by obstructing walkways and committing vandalism. The artist however was within her rights. And those rights are what the flag stands for and what he truly fought for.
it doesnt matter, it is a symbol of what many men and women have fought and died to defend, it is a representation of the flag of our nation, and should be shown the respect expected thereof. i am not trying to sound offensive to you or anyone, but if it helps to understand what i am trying to say, think of it this way, imagine the person(s)/items that you care about most. that you would willingly ide a thousand times over for, now imagine that someone painted their face on the floor and spread
