Skating Update: Things are going well! --- Tanara McLean

Hey all!

It's been a while, but I'm happy to report that things are going really well. I've been working hard on changing and improving my jump/spin technique and I'm now starting to really see the changes in my skating.

Devan put me on a nice regime for the next 8 months. I'm also happy to tell you all my first competition as a Sr. Lady will be in April!!! I'm beyond excited about this :)

@tanaramclean Oh wow! Why did you start skating? Did your parents put you in it or did you just decide you wanted to? I thought you were in your teens! Wow! I don't know much about skating yet, so I don't know how coaching works haha :P oh, that's a shame that you broke it off with one of your coaches :( well I've improved a lot! Things are going well! It's my first year and I'm working on my loop jump :) I can't get off my darn toe picks when I spin, but I just need practice :) I'm also meetin

@houseofnight1996 I started skating because I had asthma and the doctor told my mom skating would help. I skated by myself at the community outdoor rink for about a year before I was put in the entry level Can-Skate program at my local rink. The rest is history :)

I'm so happy to hear that you're improving and you're happy! Doing something you love always gives you a sort of peace in your heart which spills over into all other areas of your life.

Wow, you are an amazing skater! How old are you? And how long have you skated? I'm 14 and I started skating 4 months ago, and I'm a junior. I'm progressing fast, but I love skating more than anything so it sucks I started so late :( Why do you have so many coaches?

@houseofnight1996 Hello! I'm happy you've started skating! I started late as well, I was almost 13, so there's still plenty of time for you to progress. I'm in my twenties now. I had coaches, which is normal for the skating world. Many skaters have separate coaches for separate aspects of skating, but it's not a mandatory thing. I now only have 1 coach because I broke up with one of them. IT was hard, but I suppose it had to be done. Keep me posted on your skating! God Bless You :)

@abharo11 My friend, it's never impossible. That's one of the secrets of life. If you can dream it, you can achieve it. Sounds cheesy, but trust me about this :) Whatever your road in life is you'll excel at it. Just keep your head up and your heart and mind full of positive and good things, and you'll see clearly where you should be and where you need to go. Skate on my friend, skate on! Argentine needs a national skating hero!
