THANK YOU for supporting the Documentary!
I Wont Go

Oli is an elderly eccentric ex-headmistress in her nineties, who now lives isolated and housebound in her condemned country cottage - her only real companion is a small Shetland pony named 'Baby'. When Oli is visited by her former student turned filmmaker Georgina, a moving and surprising account of her life unfolds - from her unexpected past as a former millionaire, through to her daily struggles to keep her independence despite age and infirmity.

I Won't Go is an intimate portrait of a determined, lively and thoroughly unconventional elderly woman - a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, a celebration of independence and the desire to live our own lives. At the end of Oli's life, the film asks who is responsible for elderly care, and who is to decide where, and how we should live our final days?

  • This looks like a very good documentary. But it is partly crushing to the spirit. It’s very saddening to see that a very old woman has to live with the companionship of her tamed animals alone. Her house can hardly be called a house anymore with the dirt it has accumulated in time. I hope that every child with an aging parent who can watch this documentary won’t allow this to happen to the person who have loved and taken care of them once they were still helpless.

  • I am embarrassed and appalled that in the UK in the 21st century an old lady is neglected. It is obvious someone somewhere is not doing their job.

  • How do I get to see this?

  • It is too disturbing for me to continue watching. It is too painful to see old people mistreated or neglected.

  • I agree!

  • Gosh this does look good ;)

  • It's GREAT Georgie...

  • It's GREAT Georgie...

  • Looks great Georgie. I really can't wait to see the finished product. The whole edit is really moving - especially with your choice of music and title cards. The cinematography is fantastic! I'm guessing our friend Loretta had alot to do with that. You are both very talented ladies. The piece looks as though it will be quite the tear-jerker.

  • Oh wow... Georgie I can't wait to see it. I'm practically crying with just the trailer... AMAZING and great music Alex! So proud!! xoxoxoox

  • Hello Thanks for visiting the Trailer for the Documentary I Wont go

The documentary has been funded via Fourdocs Ch4, and mainly myself! and we were also lucky enough to get some great assistance from 'V' to run educational outreach projects. I couldn't have made this documentary without the great support of all my hugely talented friends who have been so great to give their time and work for cut rates, so Thank you so much!
