The indigenously designed and developed Kaveri Engine was successfully flight tested on an IL76 by DRDO yesterday during the Flying Test Bed (FTB) Trials at Gromov Flight Research Institute (GFRI), Moscow, Russia.

K9 version of Kaveri engine was tested from take-off to landing and flew for a period of over one hour up to at an altitude of 6000m at a speed of 0.6 mach on its maiden flight. The engine control, engine performance and engine health during the flight were found to be excellent

Tejas Mk1 Initial operational clearance by early 2011

Indian air force has ordered 40 Tejas Mark 1 and Indian Navy some more Tejas mark 1.

We are also looking at 100 Tejas Mark 2 for Indian air force and at least 50 Tejas Mark 2 for Indian Navy

In total, we are looking at least 200 to 250 Tejas for both Indian air force and Navy for both mark1 and mark 2 versions.

Next step is AMCA (Advanced medium combat stealth aircraft). I hope kaveri gets ready for this twin engined beast.

we have achieved a big milestone by this program. The military grey painted version of LCA looks AWESOME. such a nice little fighter plane. and to those morons who whine abt its features.. they know shit abt fighter planes. this TEJAS has one of the best avionics and flight systems in the whole world. ACTION PACKED. and the whole world knows thet you PORKISTANIS are still trying to figure out how to make PAPER PLANES.. haa haa.. HINDUSTAN ZINDABAD... PORKISTAN FUCKABAD....

I think India should abandon the Indian Air Force MMRCA (Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft  Competition) and acquire a bunch of these in its place. More jobs and a good entry into this field.

LCA only took 5 years to develop (1990-1995), and its fly-by-wire system took 6 years (1992-1998). The aircraft was not flown for years because of American and British sanctions. The F404-GE-IN20 was available only in 2004 for the LSP-2! A.D.A. since then is only modifying the Tejas, not developing. The Americans took 20 years to develop the F-22’s engine. LCA’s performance is better than the early Gripen ‘C’ model and incomparably better than the Joint-Fuck JF-17. LCA MK-2 will be amazing.
